The EPA has acknowledged a need for renovation firms and workers to undergo training and certification under the new Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule (RRP). The rule took effect April 22, 2010 but the EPA announced it will delay enforcing this rule until October 1st, 2010 because of concerns raised by the EPA’s building industry allies and its supporters in congress. The Enterprise Retrofit Audit Protocol will make it easier to receive funding for retrofitting affordable housing by establishing a “baseline for metrics and disclosures in the analysis of green improvements”.
This protocol was developed by Enterprise Community Partners, Inc. and CAS Financial Advisory Services.
